The Lizana Community's very own St. Ann's Catholic Church invites you to their 12 Annual Catfish Festival. Festival goers of all ages will enjoy the carnival rides, as well as, games like BINGO. Plus they'll have silent and live auctions. With live entertainment this event is sure to keep you entertained all weekend long.

Fugitives nabbed at daybreak by Pearl River County authorities

PEARL RIVER COUNTY, MS (WLOX)- Two fugitive brothers wanted out of Tennessee were captured around 6:30 Thursday morning according to Pearl River Sheriff's Department.

According to Pearl River County Sheriff David Allison, Jessy and Jeffrey Marchbanks were caught at the corner of Ozona Richardson Road and Richardson Road just after sunrise.  That's the same general area authorities had searched Wednesday and early Thursday morning.

Mississippi is prone to severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, and the American Red Cross urges residents to take steps now to stay safer when severe weather threatens.
 
“After recent severe weather and tornadoes across several states, this is the time to stop what you’re doing and make sure you and your family are prepared," said Don Stephens, emergency services director. “Create a disaster preparedness plan now before our community is threatened by high winds, hail, lightning and excessive rainfall.”

PRCC graduates advised to set goals and keep trying

Pearl River Community College:

Set targets for success and keep shooting at them, state Rep. Mark Formby said Wednesday during  Pearl River Community College graduation exercises at the Forrest County Multi Purpose Center.

Formby, a former PRCC student, told the graduates and their families not to be discouraged when they fail to hit a target, using his own political losses as an example.

Voting held today for primary run-offs

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX)- Today in South Mississippi there are 12 primary runoffs for the board of alderman or city council races.

If you voted in the primary on May 7, you must cast your ballot under the same party in today's runoff. If you did not vote in the primary races and there is a runoff in your ward today, you can cast your vote. The General Election is June 4.

From 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. polls will be open today.

Nearly 2,000 students graduated from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College during the 2012-2013 school year.  The annual commencement ceremony was held on May 9 at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum in Biloxi.
